Christie is the founder of Technology
Strategies International. He
has directed more than 300 technology market research and strategy
consulting assignments covering a wide range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, advanced
materials, biotechnology, information
technology, electronics, environment, process controls, pumps and
valves, telecommunications, interactive television, manufacturing, financial services, pharmaceuticals
and energy. He has been
consulting to clients from technology-driven industries for more
than two decades.
Christie
established Technology Surveys International Inc. in Canada in 1995.
During the period 1995 to 1997 he worked closely with Market Facts
of Canada Ltd (now Synovate) to establish an industrial market
research and business consulting capability. Since then he has
established TSI as a leading provider of global market intelligence.
Over
the past two decades Christie has assisted both global leaders and SME’s
in the development of their competitive strategies and conducted
in-depth market research, industry analysis, competitive
intelligence and techno-economic analysis for clients. He has worked
at the industry policy level, having successfully completed
assignments on IT industry strategy development, industry clusters
and cluster development, science and technology policy, and
international competitiveness. He has conducted technology market research
and intelligence assignments spanning more than 60 countries, and
has held permanent positions in Canada and South Africa.
Christie
has a B.Sc. (Eng) in electronics, a Graduate Diploma in Engineering and
an MBA. He is on the Board of the Canada-South Africa Chamber of
Business.
He served as the Chair of the Internet Market Research Working
Group, and on the Authentication and Validation Working Group
of the Industry Canada Spam Task Force.
Christie lives in Toronto, Canada, but has active
business ties with a number of countries
around the world.
Murray
Johnston
Consultant
Mr.
Murray Johnston
has over 30 years’ of progressive experience and success in
understanding, communicating and implementing electronic business
products and solutions. He has a long and successful track record as
a product manager, project manager and consultant in developing,
operating and implementing IT business solutions and services in
Government, Financial Institutions and IT industries. Since 1986,
Mr. Johnston has worked extensively in the area of payments systems,
both domestically and globally, focusing on electronic commerce and
smart card solutions. He is an expert in the area of electronic
payment and electronic commerce technologies, products, channels,
services and regulated environments. Mr. Johnston has worked on many
successful technology based business initiatives and has deep
insight into the business needs, technical infrastructures, systems
and processes involved in such implementations. His career has
evolved from building the EFT system at CIBC, to working on global
smart card implementations while at DMR/Amdahl/Fujitsu. He has
served on the Canadian Payments Association working groups dealing
with Automatic Funds Transfer and cross-border transactions. Mr.
Johnston’s major strengths are creative problem solving, team
building, stakeholder communications and successful smart card and
electronic commerce implementations. He has extensive and
comprehensive expertise and mature skills in applying global best
practices and disciplines.
